Zissou is an open source Ruby on Rails content management system and advocacy platform.  Unlike Drupal, Joomla, or other open source platforms, Zissou was built from the ground up with the campaign, advocacy group, and non-profit in mind.  Zissou is built with an extensible architecture, allowing the rapid addition of custom tools and modules.  The Content Management System allows powerful multi-user functionality, with site authority controls and timed deployment features. 

Zissou features integration with a variety of popular third party applications, including SalesForce, Salsa, Kintera, NGP Software, Google Maps, Twitter, VAN, ActBlue, Facebook, YouTube, FLICKR, and others. Zissou contains a complete bulk mailing system, capable of using multiple white-listing delivery agents while keeping detailed statistics and multiple branded email templates.

Advocacy tools available in Zissou include personal fundraising pages, letter to the editor tools, blog capability, peer to peer networking tools, phone bank applications, event management tools, community building applications, and chapter creation modules.  Further, Zissou contains tools for completely self-contained social networks.
